Equality between other categories of persons


To ensure equality on other grounds apart from gender, employers should ensure they take into consideration how equal pay, equality clauses, positive action etc apply in a wider sense. Employers must also be aware of how the exemptions to equal treatment operate, for example in relation to:

  • family
  • age
  • disability
  • residency and citizenship and
  • religious, education or medical institutions.

Other special provisions also apply to people with disabilities.
