Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021

Overview

The Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021 was signed into law on 13 July 2021.

The Act will require private and public sector employers (subject to employment thresholds) to report and publish information relating to their gender pay gap, and, where there is a gap, to explain why there is a gap and what measures are being taken to reduce it.

Employers with over 250 employees will be free to choose their own 'snapshot date' in June 2022 on which to gather data regarding their employee. The first reports will need to be published in December 2022.

Reporting requirements will be gradually rolled out to employers of different sizes. Employers with less than 50 employees are not expected to be required to report.
